This recipe by Deliciously Ella is one of my ever favourite sweet snacks. First I had to get used to the earthy flavour of the maca powder but now I am so addicted to this.
Maca is a peruvian root that is also called the peruvian ginseng. It contains an incredible amount of minerals and vitamins (such as vitamins C and A as well as B2, B6 and Niacin, iron, zinc, iodine, calcium, copper, magnesium and potassium) and once was used as libido and fertility enhancer. It is known to be energising and according to studies its hormone balancing effects might be helping with PMS and during menopause. As it is high in flavonoids it can also improve your mood. Do we need more reasons to try this?
The original recipe suggests to keeping the fudge frozen. I normally just keep it stored in the fridge in an airtight container.
